Moving Coverage

A Team Moving & Storage offers two options of Moving Coverage and it is important for you to understand what they are and how they work.
Most moving companies today make you go through a third party company for additional moving coverage. A Team Moving & Storage, on the other hand, offers you additional coverage in-house giving you more coverage options hassle free.
Option 1 – "Release Value": 60 Cents per Pound per Article
This is the most economical protection available; however this no-cost option provides only minimal protection.
If you choose this option, A Team Moving & Storage assumes liability for no more than 60 cents per pound, per article - loss or damage claims are settled based on the weight of the article multiplied by 60 cents per pound.
Option 2 – Full Value Protection Coverage
Full Value Protection "Valuation" is declared by you, the shipping customer, and defines the amount of A Team Moving & Storage's maximum liability in the event of loss or damage to your goods.
In other words, "valuation provides a certain level of protection for loss or damage caused by the carrier while your shipment is in the care and custody of the carrier".
- The formula for determining the amount of Full Value Protection Valuation to purchase is: Estimated Weight X $5.00 per pound = amount of valuation to purchase.
- The minimum amount of Valuation covergae you can purchase is $10,000 (2,000 lbs.) and increases in $5,000 increments.
- Valuation coverage offered by A Team Moving & Storage has a $500 or $1000 deductible.
You must choose the valuation option which you wish to declare and enter this choice, in your own handwriting, on the Bill of Lading prior to A Team Moving & Storage loading your shipment on the truck.
It is important for you to note that once our crew begins loading your shipment, you cannot change your mind about the Valuation option you chose.
